Im surprised and fredrickly disappointed that beige is an insult in the enthusiast world. Beige is a truly elegant and down right sensual color! The entire neutral palette is most similar to human skin tones and that gives your favorite machines warmth and life. Beige simply begs for proper care and rewards that effort.
Now, I dont know nothin’ about no photography or your fancy $5 words for converting and interpreting the complex interplay of light frequencies over changing mediums into electrical signals through your eyeholes. Y’all know that I keep it buck fiddy! That’s five dimes on that hundred so that you can see/note the change of perspective. Right now, that perspective says that beige is baller.
Beige looks cleaner, fresher, and classier than anything else around it when the conditions are right and it’s the proper time to standout (when the car is detailed and the lighting is optimal). If those conditions aren’t met then beige fades into the framework so that no body notices when it’s busted, dirty, and in horrible lighting. Beige is doing you a favor, kin!
I refuse to agree with beige being tied to boring. It speaks softly so that you’re forced to take the time to listen and appreciate what you’re being told. Beige is brilliant and I wish more cars (and people) were as authentically interesting rather than relying on flash to cover up flaws. Embrace your beige, especially if it’s on the inside.
Future so bright that even Porsche gets sued for sunglasses.

Agreed.
The new greyish beige on the Panamera and other high-end Porsches sounds dull in words but looks amazing in person.

Beige looks nice as an exterior color, even if it’s on a Camry.
Beige interiors? Absolutely not. Keep them the fuck away from me.

Beige is the plain grilled chicken breast of colors. Safe and inoffensive in its mediocrity. Won’t ever be ugly but won’t ever be really striking.

My main complaint with my fnord’s color is that it’s not beige *enough*. “Champagne” is supposed to be browner than it currently is, and a little darker.

I get why.
it was representative of “car”. for people who couldn’t decide on a color and just needed transportation. I mean Vanilla bean is amazing ice cream but vanilla will always mean “plain”.

Beige became bad primarily because of its adoption as the de facto (well, de jure actually, at least in Germany- supposedly) color of office equipment. So not only is it associated with boring items and drudgery it’s also associated with a lack of creativity and style. Just make everything beige so it all matches.

There’s an irony in silver having become the ur-beige - so much so that beige can be interesting by comparison - and beige becoming more interesting by default, even without exploring some of the more interesting kinds.

Why? Black just gets dirty. I love the light and cheery feel of a light-colored car interior, especially with leather interiors.
The ones I don’t like are somewhere between boring and outlandish, like red. I had a car with a red interior. It was okay for the era, but looks/feels amazingly dated today. Same with light blues and greens.
There aren’t many interiors that actively disgust me, but the last one was a red leather interior in a BMW...

Beige interiors are ghastly.
Grey interiors remind me of a 1998 Lumina.
Black interiors are nice. They go with any exterior color.

Gold can be great especially in 70s and 80s stuff. Tan if good on off-roaders.
Beige is bad.
